Speaking Email not speaking - why not?

  • Probably something simple! First, check your volume (press the + button to turn volume up). Then check the "silent" switch. If the phone is on silent mode it will not speak.


    If you hear the sender and time being spoken but not the email content (or the other way around), you may have a corrupted voice on your phone. Go to Preferences > Voices and choose a different voice. There are two voices you can select - the first one is the Announcer. Scroll down further until you see English Email Reader, and see what is selected. Then choose a different voice and see if that fixes it.
